Green is Good: Top 10 Green Gadgets at CES 2010

CES 2010 is officially over and has left the tech world with a million ideas, thoughts and products to ponder over. One of the most dominant trends at this years Consumer Electronics Show was Green technology. Every vendor from Asus to Kodak to JVC worked towards showcasing how green gadgets would take over the consumer market in 2010. Some very interesting and futuristic products were revealed this year. We have been following the CES 2010 and have reviewed the products on display at the show. And after hours of debate and discussion we have come up with our list of Top 10 Greenest Gadgets at CES 2010.

10. LG OLED TV

LG released it’s OLED 15″ television at CES. The television  sets gained a lot of popularity and were aimed to a environmentally friendly audience. The TV sets are energy efficient and are priced at $2,300. LG recently bought out Kodak’s OLED business and we would be expecting more energy efficient products from them in the near future. The product is also listed in CES 2010 Eco-design and Sustainable technology Honoree list.

9. Samsung AMOLED Photo frame

Samsung released several Green products at the CES 2010. But the AMOLED digital photo frame is one of our favorites. The photo frames introduced by Samsung are eco friendly, consume less energy and offer users added options like wireless transfer of photos etc. The product is also listed in CES 2010 Eco-design and Sustainable technology Honoree list.

8. Skiff Reader

The ultra thin e-newspaper reader by Skiff modernizes many different technologies. It eliminates the waste created by newspapers and saves energy while pulling news off the web. It is trendy, slick and energy efficient. It takes the e-book reader to a newer dimension and shows that the world of multimedia is changing forever.

7. Kodak Easyshare S730 Digital Frame

The Kodak Easy share S730 Digital Frame was released in 2009 and was added to the list of Eco-design and sustainable technology Honorees at CES 2010. Kodak got funding from energy star to design and manufacture this product.  The product includes many eco friendly design elements like ENERGY STAR qualified power adapter, mercury free panel and auto saving settings. It has a rechargeable battery and can store up to 8000 photos. The frame also offers many other options like collage, toggle button to switch between modes etc.

6. Samsung’s UN55C9000 3D LED TV

Who said 3D TVs couldn’t be sustainable. Samsung was one of the few retailers at CES 2010 to unveil a plethora of eco-friendly products. The Samsung UN55C9000 3D LED TV is one of the world’s first 3D Sustainable and Eco-friendly televisions. This TV reverts back to 2D too to allow users to view both displays on their screens.
